I'm buying a 15" macbook pro, and I have heard rumblings about how the SSDs shipped by OEMs are inferior to the ones you can buy aftermarket.

I do dev work (lots of accesses to lots of little files) and if I'm gonna spend this much money on something I want it to rock. Should I go with the pre-installed SSD from apple or buy an aftermarket SSD and install it after I get the laptop?

Aftermarket. Specifically, an Intel X25-M if you want the best.
