I purchased a Asus Maximus III Gene MD it has 6X SATA ports off the P55 Express chip and a JMicron 363 controller with 1x internal and 1X external port(SATA On the Go).

I'm not sure why I have 2 SATA controlers. Can someone explain what my options are? I appreciate the advice.

I have 1 WD 500GB internal HD, 1 Seagate Barracuda internal 500GB HD, and a SATA CD ROM.

Hook up your drive to the regular SATA ports.
The JMicron ports are proprietary and require the installation of a drive, while the regular ports do not need a driver.

Thanks evongugg, that's just what I did. Install went very well. I was a little worried about the COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus heat sink fitting in my Antec Mini P180 case, but there was plenty of clearance.
