I'm getting a new setup for when the 4870s come out and I need some help and thoughts from you guys to see if it's worth it or not.

My current setup:

ASUS P5N32-E SLi Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.75 GHz (can't push it to 3.0 for some reason)
Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 2x1 gbs
EVGA 8800GTS 640MB x 2 in SLi
600Watt Cooler Master PSU
Seagate 320GB Hard Drive
Antec 900 Case

Wanting to get:

GIGABYTE GA-X48T-DQ6 motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128330
Using my Q6600 from my old setup.
OCZ Reaper HPC DDR3 1600 7-7-7-24 2x1 gbs - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820227319
ATi Radeon 4870 x 2 (not the 4870X2) in Crossfire - When they release
Using my 600W Cooler Master PSU from my old setup.
Using my Seagate 320GB Hard Drive from old setup also.
Antec 900 Case

Assuming the 4870s are 300 each then I'm looking at about $1,100 for this upgrade. Do you guys think the performance upgrade is enough to justify the cost?

Good choice on the mobo and the ram. The only problem i c is the PS. It might not be enough. You will need to buy a more powerfull PS for the cf setup.

We have to wait and see the performance that 4870 will bring before we say if its worth a upgrade performance/cost. I would wait till the 4870 come out and see some reviews and banchmarks and then decide. Buying is easiest thing to do after we see the performance it brings.

While you will see a boost in performance, I think two 640 8800gts's should still be pretty good.

If I were you, I'd probably wait longer.

But if you really do want to upgrade, you will most likely see a pretty noticeably increase.
