My motherboard only allows me to overclock my cpu by raising the fsb.The multiplier stays at 13x.It currently has an amd 5000+ and with ntune I can raise the core to 3094 (238*13) the ram speed hits 964 at 244*13 and thats that.Im using ddr800 gskill pi black 2x2gb.What Im wondering is if an amd 5600 5800 or 6000+3100 (I cant go over 89w) would be an upgrade for me or which one is the best

I had heard some people say they got to 3400 or 3500 with a 6000 (3100).The main thing is once I get so far raising the fsb Im pretty sure its because the ram cant go so far over 950 its ddr800.So I was just thinking the 5600 5800 or 6000 would start out with the ram back at 800 again and by the time I raised the fsb over that 244 point the ram still would be under 950 again,so I could go a little further.I know ideally I need a better motherboard but its what I have.Maybe a quad core :) I like to do a lot of video transcoding dvd shrink vso converter winavi etc

I had read that too I went into the bios and there were three settings for the ram.auto manual and limit.I tried limit there was no 667 so I put it at 533.The next time I brought up ntune and set the fsb at 238 it showed the memory right back at 964 mhz again anyway.Maybe I should go ahead and try to go over that point anyway and disregard what its reporting in ntune.
