Hello,
I am trying to install a HP 7410ix printer in XP Pro and it goes all the way through as if it was successful and yet, its not there!

Do you need to re-start to complete installation?

Was the printer connected and plugged in, turned on during install?

Did the install setup program set the printer to actually use a port?

Start/Settings/Control Panel/Printers/

Right-click your printer (if it shows) and select Properties, then click the Ports tab.
The printer must be tied to a port, the correct port.

If it does not show up, Is that the correct driver for that printer?

If still none of the above, return here, there is more up my sleeve.

Well, I went back and found an OLDER install disk and that finally worked. I don't know why that would have made a difference but apparently it did.
Thanks for thinking about it.
