hey all
i have get an e2180 from 2 days i have get it because i heared that it have a good temp:p before i was having a celeron(LGA) :D2.8!!!!
the idle temp is very good:
http://img113.imageshack.us/img113/8249/31744102wy6.th.jpg
i made some stress with orthos and the result was after 28sec:
http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/1006/37579542lt4.th.jpg
the result was 53:o!!
my last celeron hasn't extended the 52C!! and i know that the celeron makes much temp than dual-core
and the e2180 stock fan hasn't Exceed 2800RPM but the celeron old one sometimes 3200RPM when the temp is +50c

I'am sure that the stock cooler is good attached
hope to find a solution abut this problem

There is no problem. Your temperatures are quite cool, assuming that your ambient temperature is near standard at 22c. The following Intel Thermal Specifications show your M0 stepping E2180 by scale, from my Core 2 Quad and Duo Temperature Guide:

"Section 6: Scale ...

Scale 1: Duo
E7200: Tcase Max 74c, Stepping M0,TDP 65W, Idle 8W
E4700: Tcase Max 73c, Stepping G0, TDP 65W, Idle 8W
E4x00: Tcase Max 73c, Stepping M0, TDP 65W, Idle 8W
E2xx0: Tcase Max 73c, Stepping M0, TDP 65W, Idle 8W
E8x90: Tcase Max 72c, Stepping C0, TDP 65W, Idle 8W
E8x00: Tcase Max 72c, Stepping C0, TDP 65W, Idle 8W
E6x50: Tcase Max 72c, Stepping G0, TDP 65W, Idle 8W
E6540: Tcase Max 72c, Stepping G0, TDP 65W, Idle 8W

-Tcase/Tjunction-
--70--/--75--75-- Hot
--65--/--70--70-- Warm
--60--/--65--65-- Safe
--25--/--30--30-- Cool..."

Tcase = CPU temperature
Tjunction = Core temperatures

You have plenty of temperature ceiling.

Don't forget the E21x0 is a Dual core...

thank's to all for fast replies :)
my ambient temp is +than 30c
but is this good that my old celeron was having the same temps with the same ambient temp(the celeron is much worm than e2180)
and the fan makes law rpms than the old one

Reply to seko512

You are fine. You old Celeron had a better CPU cooler than the e2180.

wow a slow a detuned single core cpu ran cooler then a faster, dual core?
this is inlightening!

thats normal dude!

your temp may not be accurate

70c is hot, you should fix your cooling your max temp is 65c or less

thank's for helping
ok but you know that my e2180 is 65nm and the old one was 90nm
and what about 70c who said that my temp is 70 you should see the pics

Reply to seko512

please lock at pic no3
how is the Tcase temp 58c is higher than Tj 54,55c !!!
is this something wrong ??

Reply to seko512

Nothing is wrong, except that your temperatures simply need to be calibrated. CPU temperature (Tcase) can not be higher than Core temperatures (Tjunction).

do you know what is temp1 means in Hard ware monitor??

Reply to seko512

Hardware Monitor TMPIN1 is your CPU temperature (Tcase), however, you can't calibrate Hardware Monitor. Use SpeedFan and my Core 2 Quad and Duo Temperature Guide to calibrate your temperatures. The link is in my signature.

there are many strange items like:
temp3-temp1-core-temp2
note:the image was taked on idle time and 29c ambient temp

I see. Well, SpeedFan isn't for everyone. The best temperature monitoring utility I can recommend for you is Real Temp. You can trust it's accuracy, so please continue to use it.

u can see here:http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/3761/85730350kk0.th.jpg
that all the3 programs shows to me the same cores temp
but can real temp show me tcase?

No. Only SpeedFan provides calibrations for CPU temperature (Tcase) and Core temperatures (Tjunction).

how is my Tcase is higher than Tj??

Reply to seko512

Because your BIOS thermal tables are incorrectly coded for your E2180. This is a common problem. If you want Tcase and Tjunction to read correctly, then you need to calibrate SpeedFan using my Guide.

Unless you're prepared to embrace a steep learning curve, read, do your own research and learn, I suggest that you dismiss Tcase and SpeedFan calibrations, just use Real Temp, be content, and enjoy your rig.

Respectfully, SpeedFan isn't for everyone, and my Guide is not a SpeedFan tutorial. Perhaps another Forum member will help you.

Good luck,

you thread is very big can you copy the important things to me
thank's

Reply to seko512

seko512,

I can see where this is going. I don't wish to be discourteous, but you apparently require a response which is both clear and direct:

(1) I will not copy anything to you, important or otherwise.

(2) I have already recommended that you use Real Temp.

(3) I will not answer an endless list of questions.

(4) I will not be used as anyone's personal oracle.

(5) I have disabled email notification for this thread.

End transmission.

CompuTronix out. :sol:
