We have a 'wireless' network in the house but boy, it sucks. Don't ask.
Thing I want to do is be able to backup the Laptop to the Desktop but, yes, Vista home basic on the laptop doesn't support network backups. So, I've downloaded, oh, 5 programs now to do it. Macrium seems to work but then dies at the last second. :(
So, being an electrician/tech guy (um, sorta) I make a crossover cable. Works great. 112MB/s... super. Then it tells me (right at the end) that the address (desktop location) is not available. Even vista is doing this now. Can't get on either computer from the other... was fine 20 minutes ago...
I hate this. Everything works, then dies, works, dies... wtf is going on. I'm just going to buy a firewire cable and have that die on me too.
Help.
