Problem Installing windows XP on a laptop with widows 7

Hello,
I am installing windows XP on a laptop that already has windows 7. It goes up to the "welcome to setup" and after pressing ENTER to setup windows XP it gives an message " it cannot continue" with the message - there is no hard disk connected or check if the device is powered and properly connected. Please help me in this

It sounds like your copy of XP is pre SP2, and the hard drive is SATA. The installation needs the SATA drivers to recognize the hard drive.
Download SP2 or SP3, and slipstream them into your install disc using nlite.
