So i am buying the AMD phe2 955, and it comes with a utility to overclock it up to 3.813 ghz. Click a button boon there you go... so my question is, do i need to buy an aftermarket cooling system, or will the one that comes with it be just fine...

You should buy a aftermarket cooling system if you plan to overclock. Overclock in the BIOS if you can, always better than software.
