Screen Black-out

While trying to boot up my dell latitude, running windows XP. the screen goes totally black and the boot attempt fails. Then the laptop continues to automatically reboot until I shut the system off. Any help would be appreciated

    Does it happen when using the battery? AC adapter? Both?

    Does it feel real hot?

    Do you hear any beeps?

    1. Dell Latitude.
    2. Both.
    3. No.
    4. No.
    When turn on it trys 2 load. then go 2 the screen for safe mode and try 2 load but dont.
    it was fine till i loan it 2 a freind of mine. now i cant even get on.
    cud u help me fix the problem. i use it all the time.

  3. Does it still light up when you connect the AC adapter?

    Do you have the restore discs?

    If not, and you have no important files, try loading the system recovery at startup.

    2. lost them when i moved.
    3. how do i do that? (load system recovery)
  5. If it came with the discs, then it likely didn't come with a built in restore partition. If it did, it's usually one of the F keys (F9, F10, F11...etc). The keystroke should be displayed in the BIOS boot screen.
