More Information

Building this system for my parents, looking for any last minute comments/suggestions before ordering the parts. My mother does a lot of picture editing as a teacher, and my father is a pilot and enjoys the occasional flight simulator. Stability, accessibility, and responsiveness on a budget was what I had in mind while selecting components. I will be installing windows vista business 32-bit. The hard drives will be in a raid-1 setup.

Thanks for any feedback.

I already ordered these because i found good deals on them recently:

ATI Radeon HD 4850 ($150 from best buy)

Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) (I know its not the best ram but for $20 and 2 free 1gb jump drives i figured I would give it a try, i can always swap it out later if need be)

NEC DVD burner (had lying around)

Thanks again, i am open to any comments / suggestions.

Bryan Garrison

Definitely get a WD6400AAKS for more capacity and speed, unless your data is sensitive, get a single fast drive. You can always get another drive to back up every week or so. Get 4GB RAM as it's cheap these days. I use all my 2GB when I use Nero and other programs, going to upgrade myself soon. None of your links work, they all link to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod

You should also get a Q6600 since Flight Sim uses Quads. If your parents will use Photoshop, a quad and more RAM will help. You don't need 750W. A 500W will hold you, a 550W will let you CF too.

Try getting a P5Q Pro.
