Hi. I have a DVD burner (Memorex) in my PC which is now exhibiting the following symptoms:

1. Not recognizing DVD's it burned a long time ago.
2. Then didn't recognize blank discs (Memorex brand) as blank.
3. Recognized Sony discs as blank and successfully burned a disc but then...
4. Would not recognize this recently burned disc as having anything on it (or even being in the drive).
5. Recognizes store-bought DVD's ok.

Note: this recently burned disc (and the older discs) are all being recognized in other dvd drives.

Any thoughts......is my DVD burner dead? Any ideas?

Thanks.

I had a similar situation got a new DVD Burner and the problems disappeared, I'd say your burners on death row, Newegg has an excellent price on an OEM SATA Plextor.

I just installed a new drive and had the same problem, turned out it was a software conflict and after some looking at my programs I was able to solve problem.
