So I am not the brightest kid on my block. Can I build a AMD gaming rig and still use this "80GB Intel X25-M solid-state disk (SSD) drive" for my hard drives or is this just for Intel ? If it is do they make some for AMD also ?

It'll work for any SATA capable motherboard, including pretty much every AMD board on the market today. It's a great choice too.

So I am thinking I could run both on my system. May be a 160GB Intel X25-M solid-state disk for the OS and programs and also a HHD for storage of movies ?

That would work fine, yes.

Running both SSD and standard HDD is probably what most people do to get the best results with minimal cost. Anyway most multimedia files are usually sequentially read and sequential read is something modern HDD can compete even with SSD.
