I have managed to break the bloody plastic retainer off of my Maxtor basics Hdd and am wondering if it can be repaired and how I would go about doing it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If that's the SATA connection, you can try soldering wires from a SATA cable, so you can get the data off of it.
