Hi,
I've been tearing my hair out with this. I have a Tungsten E that will
not hotsync with a Windows 2000 system with sp2. The errors are
different. Sometimes the SmartHeap Library reports: out of memory.
Sometimes there is a R6025 pure virtual function call error from
hotsync.exe.
The hotsync log reports;
HotSync operation started 10/10/04 16:17:23
HotSync Error: Failed to create tasks. (8006)
HotSync operation complete 10/10/04 16:17:24
The palm works fine with a laptop I have but not with my desktop. This
desktop has never had a problem with any other USB device I've ever
connected but it seems from the Palm site that Palms are very flakey
in this regard. The USB is connected directly to the computer and not
through a hub.
There seems to be very little in the way of diagnosis about what this
error could be.

I am having the same problem with my T3. I just bought a new laptop -
the t3 comes up with all sorts of errors during hotsync including
smartheap library out of memory but works fine on the old pc. Both are
xp home and have all the windows updates installed. It's driving me
crazy and I would love to get hold of a solution.
