Hey everybody! I've been crawling around here deciding to build my first computer...I've worked on computers but never started from ground zero so I want to get everyone's opinions and to make sure the items are compatible...(I think they all are)

I'm not out to build an Extreme gaming machine, more along the lines of CHEAP! but still able to run COD4 and the likes at medium settings. Probably the most demanding game will be Flight Simulator X...Also some Photoshop and SolidWorks/ProE
I will be running Windows XP Pro, at least for the time being. Vista in the future...

So here is the list:

JetWay 775GT1-LOGE LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

Not familiar with JetWay so any opinions you might have on them would be helpful...

I may double this to give me 8GB but haven't made up my mind??? Would it pay off?

Ok there it is...for the sum total of $745.91

So what did I forget, or what won't work nicely with the others?

Any help you guys can offer is appreciated!

I would get a different mobo from either Asus or Gigabyte. Change the ram as well, get either Kingston, Consair, OCZ, G.Skill. Would get a better psu. Case should be fine, or you can get a p182, or antec sonata 3 (if you get the sonata 3, don't need to worry about getting a psu as it comes with one).

Jetway makes me think of Amway....

Do you plan on running SLI? if so you gotta stick with an nVidia chipset, but you've got to find a better board.

Of course maybe you went cheap because of your budget which is cool, but I wouldn't skimp on the MoBo.

That optical drive you chose is an EIDE model....always get SATA. EIDE has a huge connector that blocks airflow, not to mention they are a pain to install alot of time.

That PSU of yours will most likely croak within a few months if it even pushes that vid card.

That mobo you chose isn't worth the srap iron they used to make it. Newegg shouldn't even be selling it.

Your case...well it lacks for cooling/airlflow for starters. Cooling is what is needed if your going to be running a 8800GT.

Memory....enough said.

Thermal compound...always use it on a build. It only cost a few dollars, and it's well worth.
