ThermalTake CASE ARMOR VA8003BWS BLK WINDOW 25CM FAN
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (2 x 3.0 GHZ) 1333FSB - 6 MB
ASUS P5N-D S/L 1333FSB (NVIDIA 750i)
4GB DDR2 PC-6400 800 MHZ (4 x 1 GB 800)
2 x Leadtek NVIDIA GeForce 9800GTX 512MB DDR3 2xDVI (SLI Setup)
HIPER POWER 880W Low Noise/SLI Ready

Also thinking of a couple of HDDs. Will have Vista 64bit (for the memory).

I couldnt decide between the Armor Case and the Antec 900 (which I hear is noisy).

if you want quiet case go for antec p182 and install additional 120mm fan on the front

Are you going to do any overclocking at all? Spending a little more for the xigymatek rifle cooler might be worth it then.

The Antec 900 can become very quiet when you're not gaming, just switch the fans to lower speed.

P5N-D is not a very good MB, based on user reviews I've seen. I'd recommend one of these (depending on features you want in the MB)
- P5Q Pro with two HD 4850 cards
- P5Q (not Pro) with a single HD 4870 X2.
- GA-EP45-DS3R with a single HD 4870 X2.

Get a 750TX PSU, $100 at newegg.

Check out the WD6400AAKS. Fast and cheap.

Also check out the RC-690 case. Excellent cooling, plenty of room, no crazy lights, under $100.

All good, except the 9800 SLI...Theres better options, as aevm mentioned, or if you want to stick with nvidia go for a 9800gx2.

+1 for P5Q or DS3R

Also go with 2*2GB DDR2 800 RAM.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

I was also thinking of perhaps just going for one GPU.

Anyone have any suggestions on what would be best?

Id like a dual monitor setup, which is why I wanted a second card - i.e. so it can handle that better - but would a single Radeon HD or Geforce 9XXX be okay for that?

I would recommend the ATi 4870 as they good value for money at the mo and better than a 9800gtx

ATI needs support to bring this firm back in to line.

Reply to Hellboy

has anyone ever noticed how hellboy always seems to have the best lines.

You should be able to run a 2nd LCD from 1 card.
