Hey everyone i built my pc a couple of months ago and i want to do some overclocking on my cpu but as i am new to this i was wondering if there was a guide to overclocking safely on my mobo. Or some settings i should try if someone has a similar system. Also when the pc is at idle the clock goes down to 2.0ghz which probably has to be turned off before i start.

My system is
Mobo - Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 Ghz
Mem - OCZ Gold Series DDR2 1066 mhz 4GB
PSU – Coolermaster eXtreme power duo 650watt
GPU – Sapphire HD 4870 1GB
CPU Cooler – Arctic Cooling Freezer Xtreme
HDD - 250GB
DVD RW DL
Monitor - Samsung T240
