Since I busted one of the pins on my Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7, I have been trying to figure out what I should do. The thing still works, I got it on there and the temps are in the 40's overclocked.

1. Should I even worry about it?

2. Is there anything I can do to fix the pin?

3. What other heatsink should i consider buying.

I have seen many people suggest the xigmatek rifle thing with the backplate. I was also looking at the Zalman http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118223

Any other ones I should consider?

Temps in the 40s with a Q6600 are just fine. Mine idles at 35 with room temp around 25, with a Scythe Ninja and 5 case fans. If yours idles at 45 then you have nothing to worry about.

Keep in mind that your next CPU (assuming it's a Nehalem) will be wider and any cooler you buy now will not be reusable. I'd just stop worrying and keep the Freezer.

I assume you got a retail intel CPU so it came with a HSF... I actually broke a pin on my Freezer while i was lapping it. Got the stock cooler out, carefully took a locking mechanism off it and transplanted onto the Freezer. No-one would know the difference.
