Is 1.488v to high for a 18x multiplier putting me at 3.6Mhz ?

1.48 seems abit high, looks like that max rated is 1.425 by AMD. Try something abit lower, remember to stress test!

I thought it was. I dropped it down to 17x and was able to bring voltage down to 1.39. I feel more comfortable with that. I ran Prime on small FFTs all night (14hrs) and no errors. Seems like its running a little warm though. Speedfan says Temp1-40c Temp2-58c Temp3-53c Core-47. I have the Arctic Pro 64, should my temps be lower or is that normal?

Thank you. I feel a little better about it now. Do you know what a good oc for the Phenom II 720 BE is? I want to mess around with the FSB but not real confident yet.

On the X3 720 you don't need to overclock using FSB since it is the BE edition which means "black edition" those CPUs have a unlocked multiplyer. YOu just need to riase it a little from stock.

I have done that . I am up to 17.5x at 1.375 volts that put me at 3.5Mhz. But i want MORE ! LOL !

If it isn't stable I guess you can bump the voltage a LITTLE bit, but 3.5Ghz seems like a good spot, what are you intending to use this for?

Mainly gaming. But the whole overclocking thing really intrigues me so i just want to get the highest stable oc so i can brag to my brother-in-law. I admit i am pretty happy with it. To get 3.5 out of a 130 dollar chip is pretty damn cool.
