is there any possible way to flash bios/unlock a dell inspirion? got a amd athlon 64 x2 4000+ 2.1ghz, trying to clock to 2.5-2.8.
if your going to be rude please just dont post, i know you guys prolly get asked this 24/7.

You need to use software, the BIOS is locked. My Dell is overclocked :lol:

can you reccomend software you used? and how much would use overclock my cpu? stock cooling

1. Use software called ClockGen, which will overclock your RAM aswell so don't go to a large overclock very quickly, it might not even recognize your motherboard so it might not work.

2. After you get it to a likeable overclock stress test with OCCT/Prime95. Use a program like CoreTemp or SpeedFan and track temps. It can get pretty hot in a Dell.

3. If all goes well you'll be good to go. I have no idea if ClockGen will recognize your motherboard tho.

Thats quite weird, it doesn't even give you PLL setup....try SetFSB chances of it working are slim but its worth it.

everythings greyed out and i got a chipset error popup.
