My computer is 1 year old but my HD is several years old. My main components are: C2D, ASUS P5B-Plus, 2 MB, Win 7 32 bit. My HD is a 160 GB WD that is probably 4-5 years old. My computer takes precisely 2 minutes to boot.

If I were to buy a new HD would I see a significant increase in performance?

I use my computer mostly to surf the web and only use about 50 MB on my actual drive. However, I like speed and want a fast computer.

If I get a new HD, would a WD Caviar Black be a good choice? Any other drive I should consider?

Would it make sense to get a small SSD drive for my OS?

What RAM do you have? and maybe a 320GB rise the performance a little.
