Hello my qx6850 oc to 3.67/true 120 push/pull config. idles at 26 - 30c, (games) no more than 50c. under full load... prime 95 gets up to about 55 - 60c. now, not sure why but speed fan 4.38, CPUID HWmonitor 1.14 & PC Probe, for no obvious reason displays 115c ...but usually only from idle temp. core temps are normal under 115c temp display...cpu 115c/core0 39/core1 39/core2 35/core3 37. this does not happen every day, even when oc to 3.34 this happens...is my cpu really that hot or could something else be the cause. also it does not gradully get to 115c it is 30c then 115c...make any sense? any ideals? thanks

Sorry Okisk, I didn't completely understand: your CPU is running at 115C under load or when idle? In any case, that's simply too high!

Does your setup have any cooling whatsoever?

Your CPU wouldn't operate at that temperature, it is an inaccurate reading.
If it is displayed this high in your BIOS, try flashing the newest version.

thanks for your replys, the cpu shows that temp pretty much when idle...it will show 30c for mabe 1 to 5 hrs then all the sudden it goes to 115c...funny thing is that it does not go to 75c or 95c only 115c so like k0unit said it is most likley a faulty reading...i will check for a bios update...thanks again. by the way my cooling is a true 120 HS with a push and pull setup.
