Hi all,
Same old, building system need feedback. I put planned a computer a few weeks ago, but now with the new releases I had to overhaul.
-I play on using the computer to do some programming/engineering simulations, gaming, and the other usual things.
-I intend on doing Raid 0.
-The power supply I picked I know is overpowered but my current computer ran out of power when I added 3 hard drives and another card and I don't feel like dealing with that again if it just costs an extra 20 bucks (especially if I can reuse the power supply in a future build).
-I intend to OC but I have never done that before so I intend to stay withing sane limits.
-I would like to stick with newegg stuff even if it costs a hair more so I don't end up dealing with Joe's sketchy CPU emporium or something like that.
-Finally I don't have an OS listed but I can get Windows XP/Vista through my college's MSDN, which I can use for a year(until i graduate) then I will have to buy something.
- Have LCD monitor already but may dual monitor in future
-My build is as follows (Since I know little about selecting Ram please check that):
ASUS Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 20X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 14X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe - Retail

Finally, I eventually intend on getting these speakers in the future and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on using onboard sound or a soundcard.

first off, i just want to say those speakers own the hell out of everything. i live in a third story house, when i first got them, i went to the third floor, and closed the door behind me. i told my friend to turn it up a little bit more than half way, and put my hand against the wall and it shook it.
and when i played battlefield 2, one of the best gaming experiences ive ever had.
get the speakers.
oh and onboard sound is good enough, but a soundcard would be even better.

However, I prefer one VelociRaptor over RAIDing cheaper drives for stability reasons. RAID 0 increases your chances of losing all your stuff. If one drive fails or the mobo dies you could lose everything. The reviews of the drive you selected concern me. Of course, you could just use a backup program (like Acronis True Image) to get around that.

Hey all, I apologize for the double post, but could someone just give me the thumbs up if it looks like everything should be compatible. I need to order the stuff soon, because I want to build it on my vacation next week.
Thanks all
