Seriously on the front page of the graphics card section of tiger direct the "XFX GeForce 8800 GTS Extreme" is listed as the nos 1 selling card. Either this is a pack of bull **** lies (who would spend 300 bucks on this junk when they could get a 4870 which is twice the speed), or people are morons.

Maybe when they printed the catalog or designed the web page it was. They probably used sales figures a month or 2 old, they can't release figures for July since it isn't over.

There is no doubt that to date there have been a lot of GTS's sold. The 4800's may be the cards to have now, but they have not been on the market long enough yet to surpass GTS sales.

And on that note, who really gives a flying rat's ass what some retail web site advertises as the greatest, mostest, bestest, cheapest, fastest anything? I guess you haven't done much shopping at retailers like Fry's or Best Buy and listened to the blantant BS that their employess spew continuously to sell outdated hardware. There was a thread here just the other day where a guy was talked into paying $200 for a 5 year old 5000 series nVidia GPU because it was the "best" 3D accelerator they had.

Anyone with common sense pays no attention to this junk, and then certainly wouldn't flaunt their own ignorance by posting a rant on a poplular hardware forum, would they? heh-heh.

I heard a guy at target that when asked what the difference between +r and -r dvd recorders was, the guy said the plus was newer so it was better !
