Hello,
I have had some trouble recently with my Dell Inspiron 9400.
Part of the problem had to do with my video card, which was a 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS.
I had to send the computer in.
They replaced the card with a 256 MB ATI Radeon Mobility x1400.
I believe I paid extra for the NVIDIA when I purchased the system.
Is Dell trying to pull a fast one on me or should I not care? I really can't determine if there is a significant difference between the two, other than that most threads that I have read seem to push people towards NVIDIA over ATI in general.
Yes, there is a significant difference. They replaced your card with a much slower one. Probably didn't do it on purpose though, just grabbed whatever is on hand, thinking that most people can't tell the difference between one "256mb" card and another. Might as well call them and pretend to be angry, you might get a better card in return.
Is there a site that you know of that will provide me with the essential differences between the cards so that I may present as strong a case as possible for replacement when I call them?
