HD 4870 (or driver) issues.

Hello, I just bought an HD 4870, and ever since I've installed it, I'm getting weird system hangs. I'll be browsing Firefox, and my and I'll open a new tab or something, and the mouse just locks up. My computer just stops. Has anyone had this problem, and is there a way I could fix it?

tried removing the card and booting without it?
get it replaced under warranty i guess?


ps. Usually when the comp works but hangs randomly its defective memory, so hopefully you didn't damage anything when installing by thumping it, rubbing a baloon on your cat and letting it play inside the case etc.

I bet you it's driver realated.

I bought this card also and never got this problem. I'm using this driver http://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894 . I also used this guide to low the temps http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?t=456350 (-20 celsius ).

You should be ruuning the hotfix drivers.

nevermind. Reinstalled windows, and my system is stable as a rock! I'm going to go play CoD4 now. I'm even hitting 100 FPS with it maxed at 1680x1050 4xAA!
