I've been searching for a good mother board for an intel e8200 wolfdale(Preferably one that won't require a BIOS update to recognize CPU). Everyone I find it seems I can always find some problem with it and the wolfdale series processors. Only going to use build for some moderate gaming, going to OC it a little too, and I'm not sure if I need SLI or not(what are some benefits of SLI anyway?).

While I'm on this subject, what AMD processor stacks up to the e8200? I've been looking at some of the Athlon X2 64 and like how they overclock, especially the black edition 5000+ brisbane. Might as well throw in a good mobo combo with this question too.

Thanks in advnace. :)

Depends what GPU you are going to be using, as to what is best for you. I'm assuming that P45's motherboards will work, as this is what I'm going to buy for my e8200 wolfdale. Hopefully someone else can confirm this however.

P35, P45, X38/48, 650i just to throw a few at you.

For SLi the Nvidia 700's series chipset will reconize Wolfdales without BIOS updates.

Intels P35, P45, X38, X48 all will reconize Wolfdales.

Non of the AMD X2 will stack up clock per clock against C2D wolfdales.

Moderate gaming.. you don't need SLI. Moderate gaming, AMD 4850 is the best card out there right there.

Look at the P45 MSI Neo-3R. It is a great motherboard.
