Hey all first time post here. I just put together my new system, and started with the overclock, and was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions , this is my build.

i7 920 (C0 Stepping)
TRUE x2 120mm 1600RPM Fans
Asus P6T6 WS Revolution
Vista Ultimate x64
6GB Corsair Dominator (1600)
BFG GTX 295
BFG 9800GT Eco Intelligence (Dedicated Phys X) - (Not Installed Yet)
Corsair HX1000
Caviar Black 1TB
Cooler Master 932 HAF

Also, I have the update for my BIOS which allows a x21 Multiplier.

Presently, This is what I have running stable right now.

CPU = 3.717
BCLK = 177 x 21 (Turbo Off)
RAM = 1416
Uncore = 2832
QPI = 6388

CPU Voltage = 1.32
CPU PLL = 1.84
QPI = 1.30
DRAM = 1.64

Using Prime95, Ran 3 Cycles for about 1-2 hours each time.
Idle Temp = 38C
Max Load = 73C (max)

I have tried to get 180 Base clock but it fails in prime. When using 180, I upped my voltages for CPU and QPI up to 1.35, even my PLL up to 1.88 and DRAM up to 1.66 and every variation of these numbers and nothing would hold stable more then a few minutes, I would always get BSOD with 0x000000124 Error.

The only time it would run stable is if I tuned down my RAM from like 1400ish to lowest setting of like 1083 of something. I'm still not sure if I'm missing something or maybe it just does not want to run at 180.

I know its not a big deal, as running at Base 177 with the above is still nice and completely stable. I would still like to get that 180 Base Clock. Again, It runs stable on everything at 180 except when I have my RAM set to 1400ish.

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

sorry cant really offer you any advice but can tell you that my i7 gets to about the same oc and also isnt really stable so have gone back to 3.5ghz.

Rig:
i7 920
ASUS p6t deluxe
Scythe Mugen 2 cooler
asus 4870 1gb DK edition x2 (CF)
Patriot viper 6gb kit (1600 also)
HX1000 psu
Creative X-fi titanium sound card
thermaltake v9 case

I have a question though, does the bios update only allow p6t6 revolution to go to x21 multi? or do other asus mobos also get the same treatment with bios updates? didnt notice anything about it on release notes on asus's website, not that thats conclusive.

I checked on your board and did not notice any update that allows for x21, I didn't check the other boards. Might just be mine.

Yah, try lowering the multiplier and raising the base clock like the guy before me.

That works the best.
