Would an SLI-supported video card work on a non-SLI board?

Specifically:

GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

on a

ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX

I mean, I see the SLI slip is on the opposite side of where the card plugs into the slot, will it work if you plug nothing into the SLI slip?

Yes, I don't plan on doing any "Crossfiring" or whatever it is called... Just the 1 card will be fine enough for me.... Thanks :)
