Case is worth looking into. It has much better airflow and room than the Antec wich is nice if and when you decide to run Crossfire/dual vid cards.

CPU can be pushed to 3.6GHz just by moving up your FSB(Front Side Bus) to 9x400=3.6. This won't cause you to have to up your voltage and takes all of a few minutes to do. You get alot more bang for your buck with this cpu than you do with the E8500.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Retail

Comes pre applied with MX2 thermal paste, and does a decent job. Good bang for your buck.

Well the guys that post at Toms Hardware (atleast myself), think if you were into overclocking you wouldn't have come up with that build in your first post. Biostar in the past has usually put out a cheap inferior mobo that bends like rubber...sans the reviews at newegg. That Asus will clock as high as you want to push your cpu without purchasing a X38/X48 board.

Ok you want to overclock and run Crossfire for that price range? Let me show you the build you want then for your price range ... $1,000. Always remember if your going to overclock heat is your #1 enemy. So your looking for a case with premium airflow, not to mention plenty of room for a Crossfire set up. Also you want a good heatsink. Then you want RAM with good timings and low
latency that won't hold you back. You have that, and your 3/4 of the way there.

That there is about as good as it gets for a $1,000 rig that will let you achieve high overclocks, run Crossfire and still stay cool.

Thanks for the help.

So a few questions:

1) Why don't you like the 7200.11 HD? Isn't newer = better?
2) You prefer Reaper over G.Skill? Is there any particular reason?
3) I noticed you have a lot of cooling supplies -- let's say that I were to stick with the Antec 900/E8500, would I still be able to use those things? Like the XIGMATEK stuff?

Thanks.
