Setting up raid

hi there iam new to this forum, iam lookink to set-up raid for the first time, i have just installed windows 7 on a asus pq5 pro mobo and i have 2 500gb hard drives, i have never attempted using raid before so iam a novice can anyone give me some advice thanks
