I'm thinking of replacing my noisy stock AMD cooler on my PII 720BE. It runs pretty hot too. I've ordered a 120mm fan for my case, which hopefully helps to bring down the temperature. But I'm probably going to buy a quieter cooler anyway. My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P. If I remember correctly there was some kind of a support bracket behind the CPU socket. Is that enough for heavier coolers? 500-800 grams? I'd prefer easy installation.

Well I can only recommend what I know which is the Arctic Cooler 64 pro which I am presently using on an AMD 7850be which has the same heat signature as some of AMD's quad core cpu's..:)
