Hi everyone, a local retailer is selling the old WD raptor 74gb for $50 and hard drives are beyond my level of expertise. I was looking to upgrade my current 80gb Caviar Blue boot drive in preparation for win7. $50 is a lot of money for a dated 74gb drive but if its really quick, then I don't mind. So do you think it would be faster then newer drives, with Caviar Black in particular?

No, this HDD is faster (and faster than the WDs)

Alright, thanks a lot. I'll keep an eye out for it to come on sale.
