I have 2 asrock boards, and they run pretty well. Asrock has a p43 1600 twin-s that is only $70; has plenty of stuff, including 6 memory slots and overclocking jumpers, but no onboard video. Newegg has an asus 2400 fanless basic video card for $24 shipped in the open box section, if you need one, but it may be sold out by now.

It might help if you told us anything that you want/need like eSATA, RAID, firewire, a certain number of drives etc?

If you don't need anything fancy get a GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3L.

Ignore the number of 5 eggs, read the reviews and see. Even with the downgraded reviews it still was able to maintain 4 eggs.

You should be prepared to update the BIOS, as with all mobos. Use QFlash and a flash (thumb) drive.

I'm building a machine with that exact mobo tomorrow night, I'll post how it goes.

I probably won't get the parts until late, but I'll post the results when I'm done testing.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner. The GA-EP45-DS3L mobo installed flawlessly with the following parts.

Q6600 G0
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS
XIGMATEK HDT-S1283
XIGMATEK ACK-I7751 Retention Bracket
PC Power & Cooling S61EPS 610W
POWERCOLOR AX4850 512MD3-PPH Radeon HD 4850 512MB

The HD4850 was running hot so I had to use RivaTuner ot increase the fan speed. I also placed an intake fan on the side of the Antec 300 for additional cooling. That seems to have solved it.

The Powercoler just took a dump. No fan and no signal. I swapped it for a 1950pro and it's sent back to Newegg for RMA.

I hope I have better luck with the second one.
