Topic. I am looking for a PSU that can work with 4870 with a Q6600. Please don't recommend a very expensive CPU. I am on budget. Anyone know what's the amps needed for the 12v rail?

That's gonna hold your rig without any problems. It has +12V@41A, more than enough for a 4870.

You need a 140Watt (= 12A 12V rail) for the 4870.

Don't forget the 4870 may not need a lot'a watts but it does need 2x GPU PCIe 6-pin power connectors. The cheap Antec PSUs (which are very good BTW) don't have this nor does the Corsair 450 VX.

Your best bet is the suggestion by iicsus.

Theoretically yes (but the dual 12V rail might cause a problem)... That is a very good deal there...
