Hi,

Just recently ran orthos and it gave me this error
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Test 2 4000 Lucas-Lehmer iterations of M19922943 using 1024K FFT length. FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5 expected less than 0.4 Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.
Torture Test ran 3 minutes 44 seconds - 1 errors, 0 warnings.
Execution halted
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The CPU temperature never reached over 65 degrees, after initial research over the web suggests it's the memory that's falling. Just like some expert opinions from you guys before I do anything. Also I am fairly new with OC and isn't very clear about how memory work in relation with the CPU when OCing.

1.) Is this a RAM problem?
2.) Should I worry about it? it is stable during normal operations...
3.) If I need to change RAM, what should I pick from these stores:

www.msy.com.au

Thanx in advance!!!

1. Don't know. It may not be your memory. You may have just bumped into the limits of your CPU.

First, run memtest at stock speeds. Then run memtest at the OC speeds. Try relaxing the timings to 6-6-6-18. You can also try reducing the memory clock.

You can also try increasing the RAM voltage a tenth just for testing. And in case it isn't the memory (DDR2-800 should run fine at the lower speed), try increasing CPU voltage a little more.

2. It's not stable. You are just not doing anything to detect the instability in normal operation. There's a lot of thought about how long to stress test. I favor 24 hours. I had a system that failed Prime95 at 14 and 18 hours. Was going for a 12 hour test run and just let it run over night. In the morning ... well, now I test for 24 hours.

3. I checked the links. And I am not going poke through on line catalog listings. That's like giving me a link to newegg and asking "Which hard drive?" Present links to specific memory and I will be glad to help.

E4x00 actually has a very hard time attaining more than 340FSB, compared other C2Ds which doesn't have this limit. So what you've achieved so far is decent.

The speed your RAM is running atm is definitely not the cause of the problem.
For 9x333 a little more vcore should help. At this stage vMCH, vFSB and vSB can be left at stock(do not use Auto).

Hi guys

I followed you guys's advice and tried to increase the CPU Voltage to 1.35V and it's been stable after 1 hour, much better then 3mins I guess, I'll run more test when I have time.

Also noticed the temperature creeps up slowly by 1 degree at a time. Started at 55 then 68 after a hour. Seems that I should bump the fan speed up a bit.

I'll report back if anything should happen.

Cheers guys.
