What is the minimum Wattage PSU I should get for this sytem? Any Recommendations? I don't want to totally overkill it but I'd rather buy something with a bit of room to grow instead of just barely covering it.
More aboutplease recommend q9450 gigs 4870x2
750W seems to be the new standard for high end gaming machines so I'd say that. I've heard great things about PC Power & Cooling's Silencer Quad and it's not overly expensive.
Also, why not overkill?
A good 750w would be fine, keeping it to about 60% at load.
yea, i would agree that between 600 and 750W, i would be comfortable with a 620W PSU, or a 700W if you intend to upgrade or over clock jsut o give you some head room. i think a 550W would really be pushing it, not leaving you room to upgrade.
as for brand try to get one with a single 12V rail, i usually go for Corsair or cooler master. and i heaqr good things about PC power and cooling.
u wouldn't imagine wat i pulled off with a 500w. look at my spec lol. =]
U can find some great deals on PSUs now.
Get a 750 for good measure. Overkill is also nice just in case.
Great brands are Corsair (HX 1000 is god!!!), Thermaltake, Zalman (new but great reviews), Gigabytes are good too and Xigmatek (new but same CWT build as Thermaltake and the HX 1000)
