Hi all I am not new here as such but I haven't posted on here alot so I will seem new to you all.I just got my new system up and running and have not done alot of over clocking I wanted to ask some of you that know your way around an overclocked system if I am going in right direction.

This is as much info as I could fit in one screen shot I am basicly running full load and have temps stable at 48-52 depending on core. When idle around 38-42 is this ok for my specs thx and could I push it any more.

I am using the mother of all heat sinks with 2 fans can't remember name had it for ages using 2 x 12 m fans its got 6 heat pipes and is very heavy.

My system specs are ..
Q9500 3.48 gz
DDR 6400 OCZ plat 4x2 gig sync
P5Q Deluxe MB
HD radeon 4870 PCI - Express 2 x16 1 gig ram DDR5
2x Sata 3 mb data 1 TB drives

Thx for reading any help would be Great. :wahoo:

One last thing as well I have also been getting freezes when serfing the web not sure if it is to do with this overclock or something else I can't move mouse or Ctrl-alt-del to get out of it can only reset the comp and reload up.Don't happen when i am gaming or using the computer for any other windows based app's any one got any ideas ?

For your freezes, try running non-overclocked and see if it still happens. Also, make sure you have the latest video drivers.

Regarding your first post, temps sound fine. What sort of stress testing have you done (e.g. PRIME95, memtest, etc)?

Ok seems bit wierd but if I overlock my CPU FSB to 400 and on 8.5 I get 3.4 which is fine happy days.

But if I set the ram speed manually IE change setting to 800 MHz computer freezes but If I leave it on auto it is fine but it still is at 800 MHz.

I can change timings or any other setting just seems to be that one that really gives me problems ?

Is my board faulty or is it my ram ?

^ no it's just that motherboards have a tendency to put base values a bit too high, for instance my P6T gives CPU-Z a 133,89mhz base speed when it should be 133,33.

my guess would be that if you put the memory speed at 802mhz then it would run fine.

Thats the thing tho when it is on auto it is bang on 800MHz and it runs fine tho if I set it to 800 MHZ manual it is also at 800 MHz but my computer freezes wierdest thing I ever seen on a comp tbh.

This is 5th build I have done never seen any thing like this.
