I have an Asus Maximus Formula. It says that it is "REV 1.03G".
The box says it supports Core 2 Quad and 45nm CPUs.
Will it support Core 2 Quad Q9300? Or do I still need to flash the BIOS?

I read that Q9300 was not supported until BIOS v1004. But not sure if "REV 1.03G" is lower than 1004.

Per ASUS website ASUS MF states: Core 2 Quad Q9300 (2.5GHz,1333FSB,L2:6MB,rev.M1,4 cores) = BIOS Rev 1004

This is the ASUS product page link. Sometimes the links do not work.

And does 1.03G mean "REV 1003"? or is there a conversion factor somewhere?

There has been no Maximus Forrmula MB revision releases. ASUS uses 'soft' or software/BIOS for 'revision' purposes most often. Unlike Gigabyte using 'hard' or hardware revision so often. You will need BIOS Rev. 1004 to properly support the Q9300. Try a search on the Forums of the product page for further information. Ask your questions there.

EDit: REV 1.03G is not the BIOS revision as far as I know. I am not certain, but I do not think the MF ships with BIOS rev 1004 or later. I could be wrong. Ask on the product page forums. You may need an earlier CPU that is supported to udpadte the BIOS before installing the Q9300. Not sure.
