2 opposite recommendations after updating BIOS?

I have

P35C-DS3R
E6300

and it's BIOS version is only F2.

I would like to upgrade the processor to E8400 and inorder to match he BIOS version I need to upgrade all the way to F11.

However, when I gather-up BIOS files, on Gigabyte site, one said I have to "Load Optimized Default" and the other gigabyte site page tell me to "Load Fail-Safe Default" after updating BIOS.

The problem is the two options are available in the BIOS menu.

Which one should I choose?
