Hi,

I've been trying to get my Phenom 720 up to 3.6GHz, but it won't pass a 15 minute Prime95 run at 3.5GHz, even at 1.46v.AMD says that the recommended max voltage is 1.425, so I didn't want to push too much over. Currently, I'm running stable at 3.4 at 1.425v, but haven't tried to lower the voltage yet.

All I've touched is the multiplier and core voltage, is there anything else I would adjust to help stabilize my system? I heard that adjusting the NB or HT link may help, but I'm new to this and am not sure if that's the thing to do.

And what do you guys think is the max voltage for running this processor 24/7? I've heard of people running it as high as 1.5v, but without doing some research, I'm uncomfortable pushing it that high.

My temps are fine so far, highest I've seen it is 43c after a 1 hour Prime95 small FFT.

Using an ASUS M4A78-E with 2GB of some crappy DDR2 800MHz 5-5-5-12 RAM at 2.0v, my new RAM kit is in the mail.

Cool'n'Quiet is disabled
ACC is disabled

Thanks in advance.

Update: Have it stable at 3.4 with 1.4v now, but still can't get it up to 3.5

Actually I've read and heard of many people using upto 1.5v on the 720. I currently have mine at 1.47v all cores unlocked at 3.5 It wont be stable over 3.5 unless I disable the core and add move voltage. 3.7 1.5v I lowered my ram first then started with a 16x multplier and went up from there. I havend added any voltage to my NB yet either but its a bitch trying to oc it after 3.6-3.7 so I went back down and left it on all 4 cores at 3.5 its still pretty damn fast.

Maybe Im using to much voltage as well? Im a noob at oc cpus so IM prolly gona burn this cpu in a couple of months and have to buy me a 965 just because I want to reach 4ghz.
