Hi,
After some time poking around, I am still unclear on this. I have 2 spare videocards from old systems:

BFG GeForce 7800GS OC (256MB, Model: BFGR78256GSOC)
http://www.bfgtech.com/bfgr78256gsoc.aspx
Visiontek 2600XT (512MB, Model: 2600X512AGP)
http://www.visiontek.com/products/cards/retail/2600XT_AGP_512.html

Ultimately the card of choice will end up in the following system:

Asus P4P800
Pentium 4 2.4
2GB DDR400

Primarily I want to use the system as a secondary gaming system. Games played:

COD4
Black & White 2
Oblivion
World of Warcraft
Grid
Spore (eventually)

I've seen the chart/list on tom's indicating that these 2 cards are on the same "tier" but I'm still curious as to which card will perform better, or if it's going to be a complete toss up depending on which games I am playing. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find any benchmarks with both of these cards included.

As a side note, I am running WindowsXP on this machine, but strongly considering Vista.

Any advice?

2600XT should be a little faster than 7800GS and a little slower than 7900GS. 2600XT also support DX10, so between those two, use it instead of the 7800gs.

The 2600XT supports DX10 and has 256MB more than the GeForce 7800GS. With just the added memory, the ATI card should work alot smoother on games.
