Hi all, im not very good at looking at graphics cards and knowing if there good so ive come here to ask for your help/opinion! is the ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 Graphics RS780 graphics card any good for gaming? i'm not looking for an amazing card, just a decent one. how would it compare to the geforce 8600? thanks for your opinions/help!

More about : card good ati radeon 3200 graphics rs780

hd3200 is not good and the rs780 is an integrated video card. the RS780 is part of the AMD 780g chispet which has hd 3200-like video capabilities.

anything below hd3850 is a no go. especially the geforce 8600gt

Really it depends what games you are playing and on what size/resolution of a monitor. If all you play is something like Diablo 2 its overkill, but for Crysis it probably won't even load a menu. If you can give us this information we can provide more help.

The HD 3200, which is an integrated-only GPU (there is no separate card version of it) is surprisingly powerful for integrated graphics, thouhg it still, of course, is low-end. It's not going to be any good for the likes of Crysis or Clear Sky, but for less-demanding games at low resolutions and potentially lower settings, it could be quite acceptable.

It does work quite well for 2-3 year old games, but the lack of dedicated memory hurts it. It can score around 2000 in 3DMark06 so you can guess it is about 1/6-1/8 of a current Gfx card at low resolutions (1280).

Thanks for the help guys. I was just curious, because i bought a new laptop and it had a 8400 gs and its kinda crappy. i'm not looking to play the best games, such as age of conan, or crysis, on maxed out graphics but just games such as lord of the rings online and stuff maxed, so i was looking for a new laptop within my pricerange, and my brother has a comp with an 8600 and it seems to be pretty good. but thanks for the help!

Yeah the 8600 is pretty decent for a laptop card, much better than the 8400GS. The 3200 is on par with the 2400Pro,which is pretty identical to the 8400GS.

is this graphics card compatible to run high settings on something like second life?
February 23, 2009 12:55:39 AM

i run sl on mine, not bad at all. higher gaming , prolly not. just be sure you set laptop to high performance.

HD3200 is comparable to nVidia 9300. For laptop, better get a nVidia 9 series card. 9 series cards are not much power hungry as 8 series.
Try nVidia '9500M GT with Hybrid SLi'. That'll be better than a 8600Gt.

hi..really need help here

i'm using AMD Turion Dual Core Mobile RM-70 2.0 GHz
and with integrated ATI Radeon HD 3200

and now i'm trying to play game > The Witcher : Enhanced Edition
the problem is..the game background became solid black..and al the character in the game look blur (black+grey ) in gesture...

could it be the HD 3200 is not enough to support the game?

here i list the game requirement :

1) The following video cards should be set to run at 800x600 with Low Detail settings:
ATI RADEON 9800 Series, ATI RADEON X700 Series, ATI RADEON X1300/X1550 Series, NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT, NVIDIA GeForce 6600

2) The following video cards should be set to run at 1024x768 with Medium Detail settings:
ATI RADEON X800 PRO, ATI RADEON X850 XT, ATI RADEON X1600 Series, ATI RADEON X1800 series, ATI RADEON X1950 Pro, ATI RADEON HD 2600 XT, NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Series GPU, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT, NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT, NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS, NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT

3) The following video cards should be set to run at 1024x768 with High Detail settings:
ATI RADEON X1950 XTX, ATI RADEON HD 2900 XT, NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX, NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GX2, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX

I have tried to use the low setting but still the solid black problem is there.
could anyone help me fix this??
TQ :)

Hello Im useing a Hp touchsmart tx2 1024 ca

i recently installed crysis on my laptop useing a ati radeon 3200 integrated card and it runs jsut only on low settings... still looks ok to me.. I am a old school hard core FPS gamer but havent had a new pc since my p4 2.4 and it jsut doesent handle any new games lol

but crysis is playable for me I can still terar it up just at lower fps... I make up for it with a good connection i guess but jsut turn everyhting low... its not as enjoyable and i wouldent recomend this card for a laptop your looking ot primaraly game with but if its a added bonus to a laptop you really want like me.. with this laptop/tablet convertable I really wanted it for the size, price and just coolness of it and knowing I can play pretty much all the latest games on it even if its at low settings is just a sweet added bonus..

google "can u run it" its a handy website for testing a computers performance on pretty much every popular game out there and its like updated daily... you do have to download a plugin that allows the site to scan your device manager I guess to gather information and all you do is select a game from a verry large list of new titles and it suto scans your gear and tells you exactly what you have and how it stacks up with the games minimum and recommended specs.. its quite handy. i recently put the windows 7 trial on this laptop and now I fail all the minimum requirements for all games lol so im reinstalling vista ultimate. but heres a copy and paste job from the "can u run it" site on crysis hopefully it shows you that it does work well sjut at lower settings and the only reason my systeem failed this was because of the Operating system :)  sorry for all the typos and heres a link to the "can u run it" site

How does the ATI® Radeon™ HD 3200 run World Of Warcraft. i am planning on buying a Toshiba Satellite:p 500. And the guy at best buy said it would run it perfectly and others games such as COD 4. any second opinions?

I have doubts it'd run COD4 "perfectly". It should run WoW at around medium settings and COD4 and medium/lowish settings.

It's a good value GPU for a laptop. It isn't a powerhouse by any stretch of the word, but if you're looking to save some cash it's a good budget choice.

I have an Acer Aspire M5201-A32 machine (AMD X2 5000+, 780G chipset) which uses an on-board Radeon HD 3200 on its 780G motherboard. It has both VGA and HDMI connectors on the back. It does support dual screens, one via each connector. I hooked up both of its connectors to a Dell 24" at 1920 x 1200 via two cables to try it out.

The only limitation with dual screens I could find was that if you extend the desktop over two screens, the VGA screen has to be the primary one, or so it seemed. If you're only using the HDMI port it can be the primary, and which is how I'm using it right now.

Because it was originally started over a year ago and there has probably been a couple thousand searches for "HD3200" since the 780G chipset came out.

How would this chip set, ATI RADEON HD 3200 graphics RS780M compare to a Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD... graphics wise?

Would either of them be able to play games like The Sims 2 or 3?

Both for laptop computers.
October 6, 2009 3:25:54 AM

Neither chip set is really designed for gaming, but the 3200 will do better than the 4500.

The average 3DMark05 score of the ATI RADEON HD 3200 is about double that of the 4500MHD:

Average 3DMark05 score for GMA 4500MHD: 1274
Average 3DMark05 score for Radeon HD 3200: 2646

On either card Sims 3 should be playable, at least with detail settings = low.
