This is the first time I've tried to set up a home network and I need some help. Here's my equipment:
1 Verizon Fios Actiontec Modem/Router (wired to desktop, wireless to laptops and PS3)
1 Desktop running XP Professional with no wireless card
2 HP Laptops running XP Home with wireless cards
1 PS3
1 Printer hooked to the desktop

I've looked all over the internet and tried different ways to network these computers but since I don't have the computers either all wired or all wireless I'm having issues. I tried setting up a regular home network through XP but when I do, I either can't see the other computer or I can't access it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi good day!

Check this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040.

Most probably your pc's are not on same workgroup names.

Ironhide - thanks for the advice but I already figured out that my firewall was blocking my connection attempts. I had to go into ZoneAlarm on each of my computers and add the IP range for my router into the trusted zone. If anybody else is having issues, check out this link.
