Hey,

I'm looking for a powerful fan that's still quite silent. I'd like to buy one of about 80-90 cfm. If you have any ideas, please let me know.

Cheers

High CFM fans are not quiet. No way will you find one that is considered in the quiet range.

As long it does not produce around 35dB I'm happy

The only one that meets 80 CFM and is 35db at the same time is this one, all others are louder.

San Ace 1011

Good luck in finding them for sale.

even if some company did market less than 35db, I'd bet the farm that it's a lie to trick you into buying it.

I have a really high cfm fan sitting in a drawer somewhere in the house. i got it for the power, but the noise was just too much. I settled on some yate-loon fans from jab-tech. i got the medium speed, which are plenty powerful and very quiet, not to mention very inexpensive.

jeremy, read that artical I posted, great info about Yate fans. You''l find something very odd about yates from places other than Petras.

I use the Yate meduims, very happy with them on my WC rig.

And if you actually read the artical, you'll see it is independant testing, not whacked manufacturers claims.

I'm looking for a fan for my ultra 120 extreme heatsink. Now I have a Scythe S-FLEX with 64CFM. Do you guys think that's enough and if not, what cfm should i get?

Reply to Nils

It's probably plenty. Put a fan on the other side of the TRUE in Push Pull. It might help a bit. Now we know what your doing with fans is it a temp problem where you OC too much? Or is it due to poor case airflow? Or the actual mount of the HS?

Did you read in depth the link and use the TONS on info on the website I linked you too? Pretty easy to make your own choice

Yes I read it and it was indeed very helpful to me. The scythe S-FLEX fans are considered very good in the review so I think of buying some of them for my chassis.
I also came across the Antec 120mm PRO DBB fan which can produce 79CFM @ 29dB according to the site. Does anyone know whether that can be true or shouldn't I trust Antec fans?
Right now I'm puzzeling whether I should buy the new Scythe S-FLEX 1900 RPM (yes, indeed 1900 RPM) or the previously mentioned Antec fan?

every1 of you clearly missed the fact that you CAN have a high cfm fan with low dB...it has to be BIG AS H3LL

antec 900's have those gi-normous vents on the top, those move a ton of air whilst being very very quiet

you CAN'T have a high RPM and low dB if that's what you guys meant... you can find some decent 120mm fans that move good amount of air thats around 20-30db
i believe 28dB is a human whisper or something of that sort?

Yeah, 28dB is really quiet. That's why I want to buy that Antec fan, but does anyone have that fan or can some1 give me some advise on it?
