Can anyone suggest how to stress test components - in particular memory & CPU seperately?

I have found that even when Bios settings set to 'Fail Safe' and CPU running at rated Voltage & Frequency that running combo test software IntelBurnTest results in a crash within seconds of starting a test (random length of time but always less than a minute).

However, processor focused tests like 'StressCPU' and AMD's Overdrive 3.02 run stable (yet to see the system lock with the following settings even after running for nearly a day solid:

Clock: 3800 MHz
CPU: 1.3625V
Memory 1.9V
Cores: All Four Unlocked
Max Core Temp: 34C

The system is a Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P (Bios F4g) with 4GB Patriot 1600 MHz DDR3 (7-7-7-20), Phenom II 550 BE and Zalman 9500 cooler.

Well, Prime95 SmallFFT will test your CPU core pretty much independent of memory, and memtest86+ will test your memory.
