I want a mobo that will have room to upgrade, im using it for gaming, and music editing. Just need something that is compatible with all this, if there isnt anything that is any suggestions for hardware simlar to this build would be appreciated.

So far this hardware i want
Windows Vista 64bit
Intel Core 2 Quad processor
2x raptor 150gb 10000rpm sata in raid 0
4GB DDR2 Ram, Need 8GB in future.(havnt decided which brand yet, suggestions please)
Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro

For the Graphics im going to start off with the geforce 8800gt, but eventually i want to run in sli with thoose or the gtx.

I havnt read much on the physics card, is the improvment worth the money?

Also i havnt picked out a case yet. But i need something to fit this hardware and more for upgrades. I want something that runs cool, and size dosnt matter. Something under the $200 range will work.

Sorry for so many questions in one post.

Are you set on the nVidia cards? I have no problem with nVidia, but the Intel chipset with crossfire solution is more stable if you want to run two cards.

Something like the ASUS Rampage Formula MB and a single 4850 to start. Adding a second 4850 later would be all the upgrade you could want.

For RAM:

Antec 900 case is always a good choice.

I choose the nvida cards just because it wuz the price range i wanted and i was satisfied with my old pc gpu which was nvida. But after reading up on the 4850 i will go with that thanks for the suggestion. Any brand u recommend? The Mobo looks like it fits all my needs so ill probally look around some more and if i dont find anything i like more ill probably get that.

I never heard of that ram before, but after reading the reviews on newegg im sold on that too.

I seen that case before and it was one i was considering so i will keep it in mind.

I just thought about the psu. How many watts would I need, any products suggestions? Thanks.

As far as I know every ATI card is similar quality, but Visiontek does have a lifetime warranty.

If you want to spend a bit more, HIS is making a dual slot cooled version of the 4850 now, so that heat is transferred out of the case.

If you want enough PSU to power the second card later, and have some durability and future proofing at a good price, you can't go wrong with the Corsair 750TX:

Hey mate. I am running 8GB DDR3 at the moment, and I'm using G Skill 1600. Good ram, stable with low latencies and great heat disipation.

ASUS Maximus Formula with one of the new ATI cards (that pump 2GB of GDDR5 goodness) would be awesome.

If you want to stick with NVIDEA cards (like I have - 2 X GTX280's) then steer clear of ASUS Mobos, and go XFX, like a 790i Ultra SLI or something. Definately don't go anywhere near the ASUS Striker series - they are riddled with problems, and most don't even post (until you play with BIOS for hours and hours).

My recommendations:

NVIDEA GPU - XFX 790i ULTRA SLI

ATI GPU - ASUS Maximus

Both the above have full support for DDR 3

RAM:

If you can spend big - Corsair Dominator DDR3 2000+

If not - G Skill 7-7-7-24 DDR3 1600
