I recently purchased a Antec Tru Power Trio and went ahead and put it in my Dell E510 to power a new EVGA 8800GT SC, while I got together the money for a new case(Antec900) and mobo(asus P5Q). The PSU pushes the card fine, my questions are,
In the manual of the PSU it says it has six 4-pin "peripheral" plugs. Are these plugs for case fans like the ones in the Antec900?
Also are the amps enough on the PCI-E only power plugs it comes with to power my card?.
I figured I'd use the adapter that was included with the G-card to convert two of my HD power's hoping those would be enough. I cant get my hands on voltage meter, a friend who lives 2 1/2 hours away has one but always forgets. The reason I ask is because I seen several threads of people reporting a brand PSU not producing the listed amount of amps, on a PC shop's V-meter. The 12v rails on mine are listed 18 but the card needs 26. Can I get way with that for long? I am so far even after I OC to 700/1744/950 in CRYSIS. My temps hover 60-62C.
Thanks for any advice I need it.
