I have an old version of Norton Ghost 5.1b which I would like to use to create
an image of a Seagate DB35 ST3300831SCE drive which is in a DirecTV HR20 DVR.
I am worried the drive is about to bite the dust and I want to make sure I have
an image of the drive to save some HD recordings.

Is there a problem using such an old version of Ghost to do this, or do I need
to spend the money to buy the latest version.

Thanks for any help.

That just depends. If your old drive has FAT32 partitions then there shouldn't be any problem. If it uses NTFS partitions then there could be issues, like issues where if you manage to make an image at all it may not work ^_^. If you want something free and modern, albiet with a Linux Command Line, google "Trinity Rescue Kit", download the ISO, burn it, and read the instructions on the website.
